Warren Bridge
Turino became involved in this $12M project for the replacement of the Warren Bridge which connects the towns of Barrington and Warren, RI on the day construction started. From the start, this was a project that was plagued by multiple issues of differing site conditions and design problems such as complex cofferdams and unsuitable subsurface conditions . Due to these problems, the project was projected to take an additional two years to complete. This was a cause of concern due to the fact that the temporary bridge structures which were carrying traffic around the existing structure were reaching the end of their life. Based upon a cooperative effort among all parties, the project became a partial Design/Build. Turino analyzed the balance of the work and based upon our recommendations, RIDOT accelerated various components of the balance of the work.
